You only have one smile—look after it!
River Walk Dental is your dental home in Flower Mound. We can take care of your whole family, no matter what ages. We provide a comprehensive range of general dental treatments to help prevent cavities and to keep your smiles healthy.
Prevent complex dental problems with regular visits.
Your First Visit to River Walk Dental
At your first visit, Dr. Naik will examine your teeth and gums and assess if there are any current oral health issues, such as cavities or gum disease. Some dental problems are not detectable with a visual inspection, so it’s important to take X-rays to check for any hidden issues. We use the latest technology at River Walk Dental, including the Gemini laser, iTero scanner, DEXIS CariVu, and i-CAT 3D X-rays. All our X-rays and scans are quick and easy, making them comfortable for patients.
Dr. Naik will also perform an oral cancer screening. This is a simple process where she looks for common signs of cancer and ensures your mouth is healthy.
Maintain your smile and prevent plaque buildup.
Professional Dental Cleanings
A great oral hygiene routine at home and professional teeth cleanings in the dental chair are both necessary to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Even if you regularly brush and floss at home, a professional cleaning every six months provides an enhanced level of care as we remove all plaque and tartar buildup. After the removal of tartar and plaque, we will polish your teeth so your smile sparkles.
We also offer fluoride treatments, which are where we apply a fluoride varnish onto your teeth. These help to strengthen the enamel and prevent future cavities.
Dental cavities can cause major dental issues.
Prevent them with sealants and halt their progress with silver diamine fluoride (SDF).
Sealants are useful, especially for children and young adults, to prevent cavities from forming in the deep pits and grooves of the back teeth. These are thin plastic coatings painted on the chewing surfaces and are completely noninvasive. Sealants create shields on these surfaces, preventing bacteria and food from accumulating and causing decay.
Dr. Naik uses silver diamine fluoride (SDF) for pediatric cavities. This is a great alternative to traditional fillings for children. Dr. Naik carefully applies SDF to the affected area(s) to prevent the cavities from progressing. The silver kills bacteria, and the fluoride helps the remineralization process and keeps the teeth strong.
Dental cavities can be painful.
and Bioclear can help.
Cavities can cause pain and sensitivity. If left untreated, they can develop into bigger, more complex dental problems, so it’s best to get them fixed as early as possible. At River Walk Dental, we use tooth-colored filling material so your fillings won’t even be visible and you can keep smiling. For cavities between the teeth, Dr. Naik uses Bioclear, which helps add strength and durability, restores the shape of the tooth, and reduces sensitivity.
Root Canal Treatment
Why You Might Need One
Why You Might Need One
If your teeth are sensitive to hot and cold foods or drinks or if eating is painful, your tooth may need treatment.
Remove Decay and Infection
Remove Decay and Infection
With a root canal treatment, Dr. Naik removes all decay and infection. Then she shapes and fills the canals to prevent bacteria from reentering the area.
Depending on which tooth needs a root canal, Dr. Naik may finish your restoration with a crown to restore proper function and protect it from future cracks.
Broken teeth cause problems.
Dental crowns restore and strengthen damaged and decayed teeth.
Dental crowns are made of porcelain, ceramic, and gold and are cemented over the teeth after all compromised tooth structure is removed. If you have a decayed, broken, or cracked tooth, a crown strengthens and protects it. Crowns can also have rest seats, or specially designed grooves, to help keep a partial denture in the right place.
When a Tooth Is Too Damaged To Save
Dr. Naik will always look for the best option to save your natural tooth and prevent the need for an extraction. However, if a tooth is too damaged to save, it will only cause you more oral health issues if left in place. If you need an extraction, Dr. Naik will explain everything involved at your appointment. It’s quite a simple process, and pain relief is available to keep you as comfortable as possible during your treatment.
